You've carefully selected a watch that suits your wardrobe and personality. Here's how to keep it running beautifully for years.
A quality watch is an investment — mechanical or quartz, luxury or everyday. A little care goes a long way.
Battery Care For quartz watches, replace the battery every 1–2 years even if the watch is still running. A dying battery can leak and damage the movement. Our watchsmith can swap it while you wait for $3.
Mechanical Movement Service Mechanical and automatic watches should be fully serviced every 3–5 years. A service includes disassembly, cleaning, lubrication, and regulation. Skipping service allows dry lubricants to cause friction and wear.
Water Resistance Water resistance degrades over time as gaskets age. Have your watch's water resistance tested annually if you swim or shower with it. Never operate pushers or crowns underwater unless rated for diving.
Storage Store watches in a cool, dry place away from magnets (phone speakers, clasps on bags). A watch box or roll prevents scratches.
Crystal Care Sapphire crystals are extremely scratch-resistant. Mineral and acrylic crystals scratch more easily — avoid hard surfaces. Scratches in acrylic can often be buffed out.
